Ultrasound is widely used in therapeutic and aesthetic treatments of the face and body.
Ultrasonic waves through the probe act mechanically, performing a micromassage that increases circulation.
Ultrasonic energy is converted into thermal energy because it heats the surface tissues up to 2 cm. In addition to the mechanical and thermal effect, ultrasound reduces swelling and muscle spasm, accelerates lymph, has an anti-inflammatory effect, and when used in cosmetics, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin.
Indications for use for therapeutic purposes are:
- Chronic muscle pain
- Muscle spasm
- Limited movements caused by muscle shortening
- Neck pain
- Sports injuries
- Spondylotic changes
- Degenerative joint changes
Therapeutic use of ultrasound is done in physical surgeries with preliminary diagnostics.
In massage salons, ultrasound can be applied and combined with back massage as an introduction to manual massage, with anti-cellulite treatment and fatty tissue where suitable serums and gels are inserted, especially effective with fibrous, stubborn cellulite.
Ultrasound in cosmetic facial treatments is used to introduce active preparations deeper into the skin, promotes better circulation, collagen and elastin production, expels excess water, and improves skin tone.
The frequency of waves for application on the face is 20HZ, the treatment is not painful, the waves oscillate particles that penetrate deeper into the dermis.
Indication for facial treatments: Antiage concept, oily skin, dry and dehydrated, combination skin and whitening of dark circles.
We do not apply ultrasound to couperosis, rosacea, inflammatory processes, acne because the thermal effect leads to the expansion of capillaries and in this way we can further damage the skin.
